Investment can be defined in very different ways but the most acclaimed is the act of laying out money, capital or something other than money (time, energy, or effort) in an enterprise or project with the expectation of profit or some worthwhile result.In other words i would refer to investments as a passive form of wealth acquisition. according to Robert Kiyosaki in his book Rich dad Poor dad “Investment is one of the best assets a person can have”. I’ve been into investment for a while now and i’ve come to realise that investment is getting paid for doing practically nothing. You get paid while you sleep, work, play or just watch TV. Believe me it’s that easy when you get the hang of it. It comes naturally.Types of investmentThere are different types of investment. Broadly speaking, they fit into four classes:(1) Short term depositsBank savings accounts is a nice example. Returns are considerablely low compared to other types of investments, but the good thing is that your capital or returns are guaranteed by the bank – so your investment is constant with risk at it’s barest minimum. (2) BondsA bond is like an IOU issued by a government or a company. You give them money for a certain period, and they promise to pay a certain interest rate and re-pay you on maturity. (3) PropertyI believe this type of investment is self explanatory. You buy a property and after a period of time, you sell and get the profit.(4) SharesShares in a public company listed on a stock exchange gives you the right to share in the future income and value of that company. Your return can come in two ways:Dividends paid out of the profits made by the company. Capital gains made because you’re able at some time to sell your shares for more than you paid.

I personally saved the best for last. Investment in shares or stock is alot risky than all the above named together, but the potential profit is 10 times, if not 100 time more. In one year a 10,000 or say a 5,000 dollars stock investment could yield millions, there is no bank on earth that can give that kind of annual percentage. Also Investment in stocks can be done online, so our geographical location doesn’t matter.If stock investments can double your capital in a month, then forex investment can do that in a week. The same principles work here like stock, only that instead of companies it’s governmets or countries and instead of shares it’s currency.The foreign exchange market, or forex market handles the trading of one currency with another. Though there is no physical existence of this market, the foreign exchange market is the largest financial market in the world, with its average daily traded amount reaching to US -2.5 trillion. If asked, i would say forex and stocks are the best investment opportunities. It may look complicated at first, but when you get the hang of it, there is nothing better. Let me show you how!
